Obituary from the The Louisiana Times
Louisiana, MO
12 Jan, 1923; 29 Dec, 1924:

Mrs. J. N. Price Dead.

Mrs. J. N. Price one of the old and highly respected citizens of this vicinity died at her home on Noix Creek, Monday at 12:30 as a result of a paralytic stroke. She suffered Friday night and her enfeebled condition did not permit her to rally from the stroke. She was 77 years of age. Julia Barnett was born on the farm where she passed away, May 13, 1847, and her entire life was spent on that farm with the exception of two years spent in this city. When a young girl she united with Buffalo Presbyterian Church, later moving her membership to old Noix Creek Church, later Bethany church. When that church disbanded she transferred her membership to Louisiana Baptist Church. For more than sixty years she was a devout follower of the Nazarene and lived the life of a consistent Christian. On October 6, 1876 she was united in marriage to J. N. Price and to this union four children were born, who with the aged husband survive her. The children are Earl R. and Joe Price of Noix Creek, Mrs. Arthur C. Smith of this city, and Mrs. Will Bibb of Bowling Green. Besides her husband and children Mrs. Price is survived by one sister Mrs. Dyer of Marshall, seven grandchildren, besides many other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Price was given a rare experience. It is given to but few people to be born, live and die on the same farm. Yet with the exception of two years this was her good fortune. She was one of a pioneer family and all but one of her immediate family have gone to their reward. During her long life in this community Mrs. Price made many strong sincere friendships that only death could break. She was a good woman in every activity of life and did her duty as she saw it. She was a loving devoted wife, an indulgent mother, a kind friend to all those in need and a neighbor who was full of kind deed. Her life's work is finished. She sleeps the last long sleep in her native land. May her rest be profound and undisturbed. The funeral will be conducted at the home Wednesday at 1 o'clock by her pastor Rev. Jefferies, assisted by Rev. Fisk and the interment will be in Buffalo cemetery. To the bereaved relatives we extend our sincere sympathy in their fours of deepest sorrow.
