Death of Mrs. Mary E Headrick

Died at her home Dec 27th 1882, Mrs. Mary E Headrick, wife of John C Headrick, aged 84 (?) years. Deceased was a lady beloved and respected all who knew her; a devoted wife and true hearted mother, a consistent and earnest Christian and a member of the Baptist church. She died in full hopes of a life of eternal happiness. When she knew death was near and only a few hours and then the end, her faith faltered not, but on the contrary grew strong and beautiful. A sad feature in the death of Mrs. Headrick is her seven little motherless children, the eldest 10 years and the youngest, fourteen days. Her funeral was preached by the Rev W.M. Tipton at the homestead Thursday, and her remains laid to rest in the family burying ground on the farm. Mr. Headrick, the bereaved husband and the orphaned children left in his sole charge are the subjects of sympathy of the entire neighborhood, who pray the Great Head for Divine mercy and protection of the sorely afflicted ones in this, the saddest hour of their lives. May HE in this dark hour temper the winds to these shorn lambs and may their little hearts be lead the way of all truth.

Note from submitter: Although her name was listed in the obituary as Mary E. she was called Arietta by the family and even the gravestone had that on it
