Pike County Missouri Churches

Bible Chapel in Pike County, Missouri was built in 1870. Joshire Bishop was the first minister to preach there. He married Nannie Kilby, daughter of Lynne Kilby and Fannie Vannoy Kilby. It was called Bible Chapel Christian Church. Uncle Andy Vannoy and a Mr. Rutherford helped to build it. Our dad, Nathan Jr. Vannoy, hauled logs to his Dad's sawmill to help get the lumber to build it. Our granddad had a sawmill, also a grist mill, on Indian Creek. I guess it is yet called the "Old Mill Pond".
