Trost Farm Cemetery

If you have pictures you would like to share,
forward them to Rhonda Stolte Darnell.
Please include a transcription of the writing
on the stone, where the stone is located, your name and
a valid email address, in case she needs to
contact you with questions.
Stones without death dates will be blurred.

The pictures here are  provided by Stan P. with the following note:

Three headstones from the family cemetery on the farm of Ray Trost, rural Louisiana, MO.; Located N 39 22.586', W 91 04.921'. Stones are adjacent to a cleared path leading away from the Trost home.

Since the cemetery is located on private property very near the Trost home, would be visitors should contact Mr. Trost prior to visiting.

Tradition is that a dowser said that there are many unmarked graves as well.

Headstones are apparently from two McClure surname persons and one Helen M Robertson. Dates in the mid 1800's.

The farm was once owned by our great-grandmother Amanda Shy, and we visited hoping to find more family history. However, we found that the cemetery predates Amanda's purchase by many years. The farm was not her original family farm.

None the less, having made the effort to visit and photograph the cemetery, I include the photos here in the hopes that they will be important and/or useful to someone else.
